Job Purpose The general purpose of this position is to oversee the project management and complete design of the PLC and controls functions of new and retrofitted small to large sized industrial wastewater treatment systems. The position is also responsible for developing electrical drawings, as well as working with customers over-the-phone to troubleshoot issue with control systems. Job Responsibilities Design PLC based control systems for new, or modify existing, wastewater treatment systems controls. Work with other control specialists, manufacturing and the electrical shop to ensure design intent is achieved. Establish PLC programs, PLC memory maps, programming notes, etc. Experience with Siemens programming. GE, Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi PLC a plus. Experience in HMI Programming in TIA portal and other lenguages. Manage individual project schedules and routinely report progress to the Controls Manager. Interface over-the-phone with customers or with service techs to resolve issues. As needed, travel to customer sites for design reviews, research, installation, and troubleshooting. Accept design feedback and improvement suggestions and brainstorm with others Adhere to good design and good documentation practices. Adhere to specifications and authoritative bodies such as NEC, NEMA, UL. The strategic focus of this position is to ensure the timely design of the company’s product in alignment with the Company’s goals and objectives. The position is responsible for working within the Automation and Electrical function in Europe. The position will interact with all departments affiliated with the Envio business unit including manufacturing and compliance. This position will also interact with other ESI business units as necessary. Requirements & Qualifications The incumbent of this position must possess a minimum of an associates degree in electrical engineering or automation and have five years of related experience in the wastewater treatment industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills Knowledge of the wastewater treatment industry and products would be beneficial Strong mechanical and electrical background required. Mechanically inclined, strong problem-solving skills, and a hands-on team member. Able to communicate effectively with customers and peers to execute project parameters. Effective writing and verbal communication skills, both inside and outside the organization. Possess time management skills, understand priorities and deliver assigned goals as required and requested. Capable of adapting to an ever-changing schedule. Competencies Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook. Good knowledge of the English language.
