Job Summary: Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for innovation and excellence? As a Project Engineer at Hill's Pet Nutrition, you will play a crucial role in planning, developing, and implementing improvements in our production processes and working methods. You will manage multiple projects of varying scopes and timelines, ensuring optimal asset utilization, operating efficiency, and safety. Additionally, you will drive ideation, evaluation, prioritization, and implementation of Capital Expenditure (CEB) and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead the execution of major capital investment projects from conceptual engineering to final completion, applying Project Management techniques. Budget Management: Develop and implement project Capital Expenditure Budgets, providing return on investment, savings, and investment analysis. Technical Oversight: Manage all technical and administrative aspects of investment projects, including Manufacturing Work Orders, project cost monitoring, and adherence to budgets and timelines. Vendor Coordination: Develop technical scopes and prepare bid packages for potential vendors, overseeing site preparation, equipment installation, control systems, and associated utilities. Training and Support: Oversee startup and training of key personnel for new projects, perform follow-ups, and take corrective actions as needed. Process Improvement: Identify and specify process or packaging equipment, develop technical specifications and layouts, define electrical and controls requirements, and compile project documentation. Knowledge Transfer: Effectively communicate and transfer skills and knowledge through developing project specific validation documentation, electronic bundle books Continuous Improvement Reviews (CIRs), and training. Operational Excellence: Establish and leverage structured systems and processes to drive improvements in the plant’s Operational Excellence performance. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is required; a Master degree is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management/engineering, preferably in the food industry. Skills: Knowledge and experience in leading and deploying CEB projects to improve plant Operational Excellence performance. Trained and experienced in using Continuous Improvement tools.
