CMCC Position N. 2 Junior Research Associates in Marine Sciences Deadline: July 15th, 2024 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR (CMCC GOCO Division) Are you ready to join a dynamic team where your proactiveness and management prowess can translate directly into tangible outcomes in the research field? CMCC GOCO Division, located in Lecce, is looking for two positions of Post Degree or Junior Research Associates with experience as marine ecology, aquaculture, citizen science to support the research on coastal observing systems and citizen science. These positions is for two Post Degree of Junior Research Associates with good knowledge and experience on costal ecosystem processes, coastal aquaculture management and monitoring, and experience in citizen science. The primary purpose for these positions is to contribute to CMCC activities and projects in the field of coastal observing systems deployment and maintenance, aquaculture monitoring and development of related decision support systems, and implement and carry out citizen science and user engagement activities. A gained experience with ecosystem processes and aquaculture science and monitoring, marine environmental monitoring, user engagement are required. RESPONSIBILITIES Candidates will support the GOCO Division with: Assist the deployment and maintenance of coastal observing systems, Assists in the development of best practices and tools for aquaculture sites monitoring and development of related decision support systems, and implement Organize and carry out citizen science and user engagement activities. REQUIREMENTS Degree in marine ecology and the other scientific disciplines dealing with Environmental Science Experience in aquaculture monitoring and management Experience in engaging public and citizens in citizens science activities or similar Knowledge coastal and marine observing systems and monitoring Fluency in English ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Good communication skills and teamworking attitude DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally. The appointment period will be initially of 12 months starting from August 2024 , with a gross annual salary range of 22-30 K Euros. Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as junior researchers. Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract. Flexible working time as per internal policies. Support during the immigration process, if needed. PROTECTED CATEGORY Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
