We are now embarking on a new chapter of our journey, launching four cutting-edge Strategic Programs (Integration of the planetary biogeochemical and industrial carbon cycle, Global coasts as the new frontier, Predicting socio-economic impacts of climate change, Integrating AI and Machine Learning in the modelling chain) that will further boost CMCC’s global position in climate change research. We are looking for a new position of Junior Research Assistant to support activities related to the development of compound Key Performance Indicators for built environment in the framework of the different national and international activities currently on going. To learn more about this opportunity and submit your application, please refer to the following: ROLE The Junior Research Assistant is responsible for supporting the development of composite KPI for built environment elements. RESPONSIBILITIES The Junior Research Assistant will support the Regional Models and geo-hydrological impacts (REMHI), with activities related to the development of compound Key Performance Indicators for built environment in the framework of the different national and international activities currently on going. REQUIREMENTS Master’s degree in Environmental, Economics, Urban and Regional Planning Sciences (or equivalent); Good knowledge of the English language; Good knowledge of the Built Environment System (and its sub-systems); Knowledge of common operating systems (e.g., Windows, MacOS); Knowledge and capability to use geographic information system (GIS) software (e.g., QGIS, others); Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R, others); Capability to prepare technical / scientific documentation, also in the context of projects Availability to travel (limited period); Availability to take part in face-to-face meetings at the REMHI headquarters in Caserta; Enthusiasm for the research and the work within young and multidisciplinary team. ADDITIONAL SKILLS Good communication skills; Problem-solving attitude; High motivation to learn; Good in time and priority management; Keeping deadlines. DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally; The Managers will be based in Caserta CMCC office; The appointment period will be initially of 12 starting from August 1st, with a gross annual salary range of 17-22K Euros . Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher; Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract; Flexible working time as per internal policies; Support during the immigration process, if needed. PROTECTED CATEGORY Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition. Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).
