We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual with a proven track record in project/program management, particularly within the context of scientific research. Over the last decade, CMCC has experienced extraordinary growth. We are now embarking on a new chapter of our journey, launching four cutting-edge Strategic Programs (Integration of the planetary biogeochemical and industrial carbon cycle, Global coasts as the new frontier, Predicting socio-economic impacts of climate change, Integrating AI and Machine Learning in the modelling chain) that will further boost CMCC’s global position in climate change research. We are looking for 4 Program Managers, one for each Strategic Program, capable of effectively liaising with multiple stakeholders, including researchers, administrators, and external partners; with strong financial and budget experience; with the ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems efficiently. To learn more about this opportunity and submit your application, please refer to the following: ROLE The Program Manager reports to the Program Director and is responsible for the smooth running of the Program and related day-to-day operations in close collaboration with the three Institutes. RESPONSIBILITIES The program manager will support the Program Director, with: Fundraising strategy coordination: mapping of funding sources in collaboration with the Fundraising Office and in line with the financial plan of the three Institutes. Strategic support: providing strategic guidance and support to the research team, contributing to the development and implementation of research objectives and initiatives. Stakeholder coordination: facilitating communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, such as researchers, administrators, and funding bodies. Financial management: overseeing budget planning, through efficient allocation of Program resources; monitoring to ensure efficient utilization of resources within the research program; analysing economic-financial data for management monitoring purposes. Operational oversight: managing day-to-day administrative tasks, including procurement, logistics, and facilities management, in line with internal CMCC policies and Program objectives. Compliance and reporting: ensuring compliance with internal regulations and policies; preparing reports and documentation as required by funding agencies or governing bodies. Problem-solving and decision-making: identifying operational challenges and proactively implementing solutions to address them, making data-driven decisions to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the research program. Team leadership: supervising and managing administrative staff; supporting team professional development and enhance overall team performance. Continuous improvement: continuously evaluating and refining administrative processes and procedures to streamline operations and enhance the overall effectiveness of the research program. REQUIREMENTS Minimum 5 years managerial experience in research field. Experience with international/multicultural work environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of European, national and regional funding programs, their regulations and their reporting and audit methods. Strong focus on research objectives. Ability to coordinate and manage personnel. Ability to plan, organize and supervise research activities. Good communication and interpersonal skills. DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally. Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience. The Managers will be based in one of CMCC’s offices; availability for national and international travel will be required. Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition. Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).
